Ingredients

  • 2 lb. ground round
  • 1/4 c. olive oil
  • 1 c. chopped onion
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 (No. 2 1/2) can tomatoes
  • 2 cans (6 oz. each) tomato paste
  • 1 lb. Mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp. oregano
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 24 oz. cottage cheese
  • 1 pkg. lasagna noodles (uncooked)

Method

  • Brown meat in olive oil.
  • Add onion and garlic.
  • Cook until onion is transparent.
  • Add tomatoes, tomato paste, salt, basil, oregano, pepper and bay leaf.
  • Cover and simmer 1 hour.
