Ingredients

  • 1 cup quick-cooking oats, uncooked
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour, plus 1 teaspoon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine, melted
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Method

  • Combine oats, sugar, flour, and salt; mix well.
  • Stir in remaining ingredients.
  • Drop by 1/2 teaspoonfuls 3 inches apart onto aluminum foil-lined cookie sheets.
  • Bake at 350 degrees F for 6 to 8 minutes or until edges are brown.
  • Cool completely before removing.
