Ingredients

  • 2 envelopes of dry yeast
  • 3 sticks butter
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 6 cups flour
  • filling:
  • 4 tbs butter softened
  • 5 tbs sugar + 1 tbs ground cinnamon
  • glaze:
  • 1 egg lightly beaten
  • swedish pearl sugar

Method

  • melt butter, add milk and heat until lukewarm
  • combine yeast, butter/milk mix (stir until yeast dissolves)
  • add sugar, salt, and most of flour(work together)place in warm location and lets rise 30-40 min
  • place dough on lightly floured surface and kneed
  • divide dough in half
  • roll each piece to form square 1/3" thick
  • spread each square with 2 tbs of butter and half cinnamon-sugar mix
  • roll each square into log, cut in 24 pieces
  • preheat oven to 425degrees
  • let rise for 20 min then brush with egg, sprinkle with sugar
  • bake 5-10 min more until golden brown
