Ingredients

  • 2 cups poha thin, flattened rice
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 2 potatoes diced
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 4 curry leaves
  • 1 tablespoon mustard seeds
  • 1 pinch asafetida
  • 4 green chillies chopped
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • salt as per taste
  • coriander leaves Chopped, for garnishing

Method

  • Soak poha in water. After 5 minutes drain the water and keep it aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Add mustard seeds, asafetida and curry leaves.
  • Add chopped onions and saute till they become translucent.
  • Now add potatoes, chillies and turmeric powder.
  • Cover the pan and let the potatoes cook.
  • After 10 minutes add the soaked poha.
  • Add salt and sugar to it.
  • If you feel that the poha seems to be bit dry you can sprinkle some water from top.
  • Let it cook for 5 minutes.
  • Add lemon juice and mix everything well.
  • Sprinkle coriander leaves and serve it hot with a slice of lemon.
