Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. white sugar
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 c. peanut butter
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract

Method

  • Mix first 3 ingredients until creamed well.
  • Beat in egg, then add remaining ingredients.
  • Mix well.
  • Chill dough for 1/2 hour. Roll balls, then press with fork on cookie sheet.
  • Bake at 375° until done.
  • Brush each cookie with beaten egg mixture before baking to give a nice glaze.
