Ingredients

  • 5 to 6 lb. spare and country ribs (spare adds flavor, country adds meat)
  • 1/2 c. soy sauce
  • 1/2 c. vinegar
  • 1/2 c. pineapple juice
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp. fresh ginger root or 1/4 tsp. powdered
  • 1/4 tsp. cloves (ground)

Method

  • Place ribs in oven baking bags from Reynolds. (Trust me, it's worth not cleaning up the mess.)
  • Bake ribs 1 1/2 hours. Pour off fat and discard. While ribs are baking, mix remaining ingredients. Cook on medium-high heat, stirring constantly, until mixture bubbles.
  • Reduce heat, cover and simmer 10 minutes.
  • Pour sauce over ribs and cook 1 hour (350°).
