Ingredients
- 5 to 6 lb. spare and country ribs (spare adds flavor, country adds meat)
- 1/2 c. soy sauce
- 1/2 c. vinegar
- 1/2 c. pineapple juice
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tsp. fresh ginger root or 1/4 tsp. powdered
- 1/4 tsp. cloves (ground)
Method
- Place ribs in oven baking bags from Reynolds. (Trust me, it's worth not cleaning up the mess.)
- Bake ribs 1 1/2 hours. Pour off fat and discard. While ribs are baking, mix remaining ingredients. Cook on medium-high heat, stirring constantly, until mixture bubbles.
- Reduce heat, cover and simmer 10 minutes.
- Pour sauce over ribs and cook 1 hour (350°).
