Ingredients

  • One box ready made pie crust
  • 6 cups fresh peaches
  • 2 tbsp on flour
  • 3/4 cups sugar (yes, that's it!)
  • 3/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tbsp almond extract (this is the secret ingrdient)
  • heavy whipping cream (optional)

Method

  • 1) Heat oven to 425 degrees. Place pie crust in ungreased dish
  • 2) In large bowl, mix all other ingredients (if you use canned peaches, I only use the juice from one can)
  • 3) Pour in peaches, cover with layer of crust and cut slits in upper crust
  • 4) Use basting brush to spread thin layer of heavy whipping or extra juice from the peaches
  • 5) sprinkle a little sugar and cinnamon on the top of the brushed cream
  • 6) Bake for about 45 mins to an hour, remove when crust is golden
