Ingredients
- 1 stick margarine
- 1/2 c. cooking oil
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 c. self-rising flour
- 5 egg yolks
- 5 egg whites, beaten stiff
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 can coconut
- 1 c. chopped nuts
Method
- Cream margarine, oil and sugar.
- Add egg yolks, one at a time, beating well after each.
- Add flour and soda, alternately with milk.
- Fold in vanilla and egg whites.
- Add coconut and nuts last, leaving a small amount of each for icing.
- Bake at 350° for 25 minutes or until done.
