Ingredients
- 1 stick margarine
- 2 c. brown sugar (light)
- 2 c. flour
- 1/2 c. finely chopped nuts (optional)
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- 1 c. sour milk
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Method
- Mix first 4 ingredients together and take out 1/2 cup to use later to sprinkle over top of Picnic Cake.
- To remaining mixture, add remaining ingredients.
- Add all the latter group of ingredients at once and mix until smooth (can be slightly lumpy). Pour into a 13 x 9-inch pan that has been oiled and floured. Sprinkle the 1/2 cup of sugar topping that has been retained over the top.
- Bake at 350° for 30 to 40 minutes.
- May be done at 30 minutes.
