Ingredients
- 1 qt. vinegar
- 2 qt. water
- 1 c. salt
- cucumbers
- dill
- hot peppers
- garlic
- alum
- grape leaves
Method
- Boil together the vinegar, salt and water. Slice cucumbers in half lengthwise.
- Drop in vinegar mixture until color changes. Pack in jars.
- Add to each jar 2 heads of dill, 1 small hot pepper, 1/8 teaspoon of alum and 1 grape leaf.
- Pour hot vinegar over pickles.
- Seal.
