Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 1 small can mushroom pieces and liquid
  • 1 (46 oz.) can tomato juice
  • 4 potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 2 large carrots, peeled and sliced thin
  • 1 can cut green beans and liquid
  • 1/2 tsp. oregano
  • 1/4 tsp. basil and thyme
  • 2 c. elbow macaroni, uncooked

Method

  • Brown beef and onion in Dutch oven.
  • Drain off grease.
  • Add remaining ingredients, except macaroni.
  • Stir well and bring to boil.
  • Add macaroni.
  • Stir well again.
  • Cover.
  • Reduce heat to medium and cook until vegetables are tender, about 45 minutes. `Recipe may be doubled.
  • Very good on a cold night.
