Ingredients

  • 3 c. all-purpose flour
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 1 1/2 c. oil
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 (8 oz.) can crushed pineapple
  • 2 c. chopped nuts
  • 2 c. chopped bananas

Method

  • Combine dry ingredients in bowl and add eggs and oil.
  • Stir until dry ingredients are moistened.
  • Do not beat.
  • Stir in vanilla, undrained pineapple, nuts and bananas.
  • Spoon batter into 3 greased and floured 9-inch round pans.
  • Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes.
  • Cool in pan 10 minutes; remove and cool completely. Spread frosting between layers, on top and sides.
  • Sprinkle with 1 cup nuts.
