Ingredients
- 1 cup flour
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons cocoa
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 stick (1-ounce) butter, melted
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 1 1/3 cups hot water
- 4 tablespoons cocoa
Method
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a bowl, sift flour, sugar, 2 tablespoons cocoa, baking powder and salt together.
- Add the milk, nuts, vanilla and butter and mix until smooth.
- Pour into a 9 by 13-inch baking pan.
- Mix the brown sugar, water and 4 tablespoons cocoa well, and pour over the batter.
- Bake for about 45 minutes.
