Ingredients
- 2 c. raisins
- 2 1/2 c. boiling water
- 4 tsp. baking soda
- 3/4 c. dark brown sugar
- 1 c. white sugar
- 4 Tbsp. oil
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 4 c. flour
Method
- In the evening, soak raisins in boiling water with baking soda; cover.
- In the morning, add brown sugar, white sugar, oil and salt.
- Add flour.
- Grease and flour 4 (1 pound) coffee cans. Fill cans, dividing batter equally.
- Bake 1 hour at 350°.
- Let cool a few minutes before removing from cans, then cool on wire rack.
- Enjoy right away or wrap and freeze.
