Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter or margarine, softened
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 3/4 c. packed light brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. (12 oz. pkg.) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 1/4 c. unsifted all-purpose flour
  • 1 c. chopped nuts (optional)

Method

  • Cream butter or margarine, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs; beat well.
  • Combine flour, baking soda and salt; gradually beat into creamed mixture.
  • Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.
  • Drop by teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Bake at 375° for 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
  • Cool slightly; remove from cookie sheet.
