Ingredients
- 1 pkg. yeast (softened in 1/4 c. warm water)
- 5 c. flour
- 5 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 3/4 c. margarine
- 2 c. buttermilk
Method
- Sift together dry ingredients, cut in shortening.
- Stir in buttermilk and yeast.
- Turn out on floured board and knead.
- Leave dough in refrigerator and take out as much as needed.
- Roll about 1/2-inch thick and cut into biscuits.
- Bake at 425° until brown (about 12 to 15 minutes).
