Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/3 c. chopped onions
  • 1 Tbsp. cooking oil
  • 2 tsp. chili powder
  • 3/4 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 can tomatoes
  • 1 can kidney beans (chili style best)
  • 1 box Jiffy mix cornbread mix

Method

  • Brown meat; drain excess grease.
  • Add cooking oil and onions and cook until onions are clear, about 1 minute.
  • Add seasoning and tomatoes.
  • Cover and simmer 15 minutes.
  • Then add beans and heat. Put in very large oiled baking dish or large skillet and top with cornbread batter.
  • Bake at 450° for 20 minutes, or until bread browns.
  • Good on cold days.
