- 1 ham bone with meat
- 3 stalks celery
- 3 potatoes, cubed
- 1 c. butter beans
- 1/2 c. green peas
- 1 tbsp. sugar
- 1 c. snap beans in bite-sized pcs
- 2 lg. onions, diced
- 3 carrots, minced
- 2 whole cloves
- 1/4 c. diced turnips
- 1 c. fresh corn
- Salt & pepper
- 1 pound tomatoes, liquid removed & minced
Method
- Cover the ham bone with water in a large kettle and boil till meat is almost tender.
- Add in remaining ingredients, except corn.
- Cover and cook slowly for 3-4 hrs, adding corn during last 15 min.
