- 12 slices bacon
- 10 Tbsp. flour
- 12 c. water
- 5 to 8 lb. raw cleaned shrimp
- 1 to 2 lb. lump crabmeat (good quality!)
- 3 to 4 chopped onions
- 2 chopped bell peppers
- 3 pkg. cut frozen okra
- 10 bay leaves
- 4 large cans tomatoes
- 10 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 5 Tbsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. black pepper
- 3 small cans tomato paste
- 4 to 5 shakes Tabasco sauce
- 1 Tbsp. parsley flakes
- 1 tsp. celery seed
- 3 tsp. soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp. tarragon
- 1/2 tsp. thyme
- 1/2 tsp. rosemary
- 1/2 tsp. savory
Method
- Fry bacon and drain on paper towel.
- Mix bacon grease with flour and brown.
- Put all seasonings (except bay leaves) into a cup and crush.
- Add remaining ingredients except shrimp, crab and okra.
- Cook on low; simmer 2 hours.
