Ingredients

  • 12 slices bacon
  • 10 Tbsp. flour
  • 12 c. water
  • 5 to 8 lb. raw cleaned shrimp
  • 1 to 2 lb. lump crabmeat (good quality!)
  • 3 to 4 chopped onions
  • 2 chopped bell peppers
  • 3 pkg. cut frozen okra
  • 10 bay leaves
  • 4 large cans tomatoes
  • 10 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 5 Tbsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. black pepper
  • 3 small cans tomato paste
  • 4 to 5 shakes Tabasco sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. parsley flakes
  • 1 tsp. celery seed
  • 3 tsp. soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. tarragon
  • 1/2 tsp. thyme
  • 1/2 tsp. rosemary
  • 1/2 tsp. savory

Method

  • Fry bacon and drain on paper towel.
  • Mix bacon grease with flour and brown.
  • Put all seasonings (except bay leaves) into a cup and crush.
  • Add remaining ingredients except shrimp, crab and okra.
  • Cook on low; simmer 2 hours.
