Ingredients

  • 2 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 can tomatoes
  • 1 can green chilies
  • 2 cans cream of chicken soup
  • 1 lb. grated Cheddar cheese
  • 1 (6 oz.) pack tortilla chips
  • 1 can spicy refried beans

Method

  • Brown meat and onion; drain off fat.
  • Add tomatoes and soup. Simmer 8 to 10 minutes.
  • Using 9 x 13-inch pan, layer the following ingredients: put refried beans down first; tortilla chips second; meat mixture third and follow through with cheese. Repeat procedures ending with cheese.
  • Bake 30 minutes in a 325° oven.
  • Cover with foil first 20 minutes to prevent cheese from burning.
