Ingredients

  • diced potatoes
  • 2 stalks celery
  • 1 medium onion
  • salt to taste
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 3 pt. milk

Method

  • Cook first five ingredients together.
  • Mix together flour, salt and pepper.
  • Make a hole in flour and break 1 egg.
  • Mix together so that mixture looks like pie crust before adding water. These are called rivels.
  • When potatoes are cooked, add milk and let come to a full boil.
  • Add rivels and let cook for a few minutes (approximately 5 to 10 minutes).
