Ingredients
- 3 lbs. grnd beef
- 1/3 c. onion, minced
- 1 c. dry cracker crumbs or possibly bread crumbs
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 egg
- 1 c. lowfat milk
Method
- Soak crumbs in lowfat milk.
- Add in slightly beaten egg.
- Combine all remaining ingredients and mix thoroughly.
- Form into soft (not packed) small meat balls.
- Fry practically done with small amount shortening in skillet.
- Place in baking dish.
- To make gravy add in water to drippings in skillet; add in 1 beef bouillon cube, 1 can chicken rice soup or possibly cream of mushroom soup, and 1 medium can of mushrooms and the liquid.
- Thicken to gravy like consistency.
- Pour over meat balls.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 1/2 hour till bubbly.
