Ingredients
- 6 c. flour
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 tsp. salt
- 2 pkg. RapidRise yeast
- 1 1/2 c. water
- 1/2 c. milk
- 4 Tbsp. butter or margarine
Method
- Set aside 2 cups flour.
- In a large bowl, mix remaining flour, sugar, salt and yeast.
- Heat water, milk and margarine to 125° to 130°.
- Stir into dry mixture.
- Mix in only enough reserved flour to make a soft dough.
- On a floured surface, knead for 4 minutes. Put into a greased bowl.
- Place the bowl in a pan of hot tap water.
- Cover the bowl and let rise for 15 to 20 minutes. Divide in half and roll out on a floured surface. Cut into squares and fry in shortening or oil until lightly browned on both sides.
