Ingredients

  • 6 c. flour
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 2 pkg. RapidRise yeast
  • 1 1/2 c. water
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 4 Tbsp. butter or margarine

Method

  • Set aside 2 cups flour.
  • In a large bowl, mix remaining flour, sugar, salt and yeast.
  • Heat water, milk and margarine to 125° to 130°.
  • Stir into dry mixture.
  • Mix in only enough reserved flour to make a soft dough.
  • On a floured surface, knead for 4 minutes. Put into a greased bowl.
  • Place the bowl in a pan of hot tap water.
  • Cover the bowl and let rise for 15 to 20 minutes. Divide in half and roll out on a floured surface. Cut into squares and fry in shortening or oil until lightly browned on both sides.
