Ingredients

  • 2 cups Milk (reserve 4 Tablespoons)
  • 1 Tablespoon Butter
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 4 Tablespoons Sugar
  • 4 Tablespoons Flour
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla

Method

  • Heat 1 AA3/4 cups milk with butter to simmer.
  • Blend 4 tablespoons reserved milk, egg yolks, sugar and flour.
  • When milk reaches simmer, add some hot milk to egg mixture -- continue until egg mixture is tempered
  • Add egg mixture to milk
  • Stir constantly over medium heat until thickened
  • Cool.
  • Add Vanilla.
