Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 4 oz. unsweetened chocolate
  • 4 room temperature eggs
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1 c. chopped pecans

Method

  • Preheat oven to 350°.
  • Melt butter and chocolate in double boiler.
  • Cool this mixture.
  • Beat eggs and salt until light in color and foamy in texture.
  • Add sugar and vanilla gradually and continue beating until well creamed.
  • Combine the cooled chocolate mixture and the egg/sugar mixture.
  • Fold in the sifted flour.
  • Add the pecans.
  • Bake in greased 9 x 13-inch pan for 25 minutes.
  • Cut when cool.
