Ingredients

  • 1 c. Rice Krispies
  • 1/4 c. fine chopped onion
  • 2 Tbsp. catsup
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 can (15 oz.) tomato sauce
  • 1/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 c. pickle relish
  • 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper

Method

  • Combine Rice Krispies, onion, catsup, eggs, salt and pepper. Mix in ground beef. Shape in 1 1/4-inch balls, place in single layer in foil-lined greased baking pan.
  • Bake at 400° about 12 minutes or to slight brown.
  • Combine remaining ingredients in large saucepan.
  • Cook over low heat 10 minutes, stir frequently. Add meatballs, continue to cook 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Serve over rice or noodles, if desired.
