Ingredients

  • 1 (8 1/2 oz.) pkg. chocolate wafers, crushed (about 1 1/2 c.)
  • 1/4 c. plus 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine, melted
  • 3 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
  • 1 1/4 c. sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. cake flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 (4 oz.) pkg. sweet baking chocolate, melted
  • 1/4 c. evaporated milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • Topping (recipe follows)
  • toasted coconut (optional)
  • pecan halves (optional)
  • chocolate curl (optional)

Method

  • Combine wafer crumbs and butter, mixing well.
  • Press into bottom and 1 3/4-inches up sides of a 9-inch spring-form pan, and set aside.
