Ingredients
- 50 light caramels
- 1/3 c. evaporated milk
- 6 oz. pkg. chocolate chips
- 1 box German chocolate cake mix
- 3/4 c. melted butter
- 1/3 c. evaporated milk
- 1 c. chopped pecans
Method
- Melt and stir caramels and 1/3 cup evaporated milk in heavy pan.
- Mix in large bowl the cake mix, butter, 1/3 cup evaporated milk and pecans.
- Stir until dough hangs together.
- Press half of dough in well-greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan.
- Bake at 350° for 6 minutes.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips over crust.
- Pour caramel mix over chips.
- Spoon rest of dough on top.
- Bake at 350° for 15 minutes.
- Cool slightly and cut into bars.
