Ingredients
- 1 lb. bacon
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 2 lb. diced ham
- 6 c. water
- 2 (15 oz.) cans garbanzo beans
- 3 c. diced raw potatoes (4 medium)
- 1 clove garlic
Method
- Cook bacon until crisp.
- Set aside.
- Save 2 tablespoons of pan drippings and cook the onion in it until tender, not brown.
- Add ham, undrained beans and water.
- Simmer for 1 1/2 hours.
- Add potatoes, garlic and bacon.
- Simmer until done.
- May have to add extra water.
