Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. cocoa
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 c. milk
  • 4 1/2 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. peanut butter

Method

  • Mix cocoa, sugar, salt and milk; bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat to medium.
  • Cook until a soft ball forms when dropped in cold water or stir a little in a small amount of peanut butter until it becomes hard.
  • Remove from heat and stir in margarine, peanut butter and vanilla.
  • Add pecans, if desired.
  • Mix well and pour on wax paper (use a cut open paper bag under the wax paper).
  • Let cool and cut into squares.
