Ingredients

  • 4 sq. unsweetened chocolate
  • 1/2 c. butter or margarine
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. unsifted all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. coarsely chopped nuts (optional)

Method

  • Melt
  • chocolate
  • and
  • butter in saucepan over low heat; cool slightly.
  • Beat
  • eggs
  • slightly,
  • then gradually beat in sugar and continue
  • beating
  • for
  • to
  • 3 minutes.
  • Blend in chocolate mixture.
  • Stir in flour, then add vanilla and nuts. Spread in
  • a greased 13 x 9-inch pan.
  • Bake at 325° for about 30 to
  • 35 minutes.
  • Cool; cut in squares or bars.
  • Makes about 2 dozen cookies.
