Ingredients
- 1 (No. 2 1/2) can fruit cocktail (reserve 1 1/4 cups liquid)
- 1 egg
- 1 pkg. white cake mix
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 1/4 c. brown sugar
Method
- Blend cake mix, fruit liquid and egg.
- Preheat an 11-inch iron skillet, then melt shortening in it.
- Pour cake batter into the skillet.
- Partly cover and cook over low heat for about 15 to 20 minutes until top of cake is dry to the touch.
- Uncover; add drained fruit.
- Sprinkle with brown sugar.
- Keep warm until serving time.
- Serves 8 to 10.
