Ingredients

  • 4 c. pared and thin sliced cucumbers
  • 2 c. thin sliced onions
  • 1/2 c. white vinegar (no other kind)
  • 1 tsp. dill weed
  • 4 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. water

Method

  • Combine cucumbers, onion, salt and water.
  • Let stand in glass or enamelware
  • bowl

  • 2 hours.
  • Drain well, do not rinse; return to bowl.
  • Add sugar, vinegar and dill weed. Let stand, stirring occasionally, until sugar is dissolved, about 1 1/2 hours.
  • Cover bowl while cucumbers are standing.
  • Put in containers and freeze.
