Ingredients
- 5 Potatoes peeled and sliced
- 1/2 An onion diced finely.
- 1 oil for pan frying the potatoes
- 1 butter for frying the onion
- 1 Garlic salt however much you want. I use about a teaspoon or two. I eyeball it.
Method
- Peel and slice the potatoes using a mandlin or a knife.Wash the potatoes.
- Peel and dice 1/2 the onion finely.
- Save rest of the onion for something else.
- In a skillet heat oil for the potatoes.
- Melt butter in a separate pan about a tablespoon.
- Saute Onions the onions til softened then add garlic salt.
- Continue to saute the onions til browned and have a sweet smell.
- Fry your potatoes til browned and are soft.
- Add the onions to the potatoes and mix.
- Cook them for a few minutes and continue mixing til the onions are scattered through out the potatoes.
- Drain some of the extra grease and plate them up.
- They are ready to eat.
- You can add smoked sausage to this and make just this for dinner or as a side with a meat and vegetable.
