Ingredients

  • 5 Potatoes peeled and sliced
  • 1/2 An onion diced finely.
  • 1 oil for pan frying the potatoes
  • 1 butter for frying the onion
  • 1 Garlic salt however much you want. I use about a teaspoon or two. I eyeball it.

Method

  • Peel and slice the potatoes using a mandlin or a knife.Wash the potatoes.
  • Peel and dice 1/2 the onion finely.
  • Save rest of the onion for something else.
  • In a skillet heat oil for the potatoes.
  • Melt butter in a separate pan about a tablespoon.
  • Saute Onions the onions til softened then add garlic salt.
  • Continue to saute the onions til browned and have a sweet smell.
  • Fry your potatoes til browned and are soft.
  • Add the onions to the potatoes and mix.
  • Cook them for a few minutes and continue mixing til the onions are scattered through out the potatoes.
  • Drain some of the extra grease and plate them up.
  • They are ready to eat.
  • You can add smoked sausage to this and make just this for dinner or as a side with a meat and vegetable.
