Ingredients

  • 4 large green tomatoes
  • 1/2 c. vegetable oil
  • 2 hot peppers (optional)
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1 c. corn meal

Method

  • In large frying pan, heat oil (medium high); slice tomatoes and roll in flour and meal mixture. Place in hot oil. After all tomatoes are rolled and in pan, cut up hot pepper over top and cook with lid on, stirring 2 or 3 times until done. Should come out crispy in places and kind of mushy in others.
