Ingredients
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. water
- 3 egg whites
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Method
- Combine sugar, cream of tartar, salt and water in a small saucepan.
- Bring to boil over moderate heat, stirring constantly until sugar dissolves.
- Boil without stirring to 240° on candy thermometer or until a soft ball forms in cold water.
- Set syrup aside.
