Ingredients

  • 4 c. white flour
  • 3 c. graham flour
  • 1 c. oatmeal
  • 1 c. All-Bran
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1 c. shortening
  • 1 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 3 c. buttermilk

Method

  • Mix flours, oatmeal, All-Bran, baking powder, salt and sugar. Work in shortening by hand or pastry blender.
  • Add soda to buttermilk and add to make a stiff dough.
  • Divide dough into small pieces.
  • Roll out on a floured board or pastry cloth and add more flour as needed to keep from getting sticky.
  • Roll very thin, using a corrugated rolling pin.
  • Bake on cookie sheet at 400° for 10 minutes.
