Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 can tomatoes
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 tsp. basil
  • 1 tsp. thyme
  • 1/2 tsp. oregano
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 c. cooked rice
  • grated cheese (optional)

Method

  • Brown beef and onion in skillet; drain.
  • Add tomatoes, soup and spices.
  • Cook over low heat for 10 minutes.
  • Stir in rice. Pour into casserole dish (9 x 13-inch works well).
  • Bake at 350° until hot.
  • Top with cheese and return to oven until cheese melts and browns a little.
