Ingredients

  • 1 (10 oz.) bottle Kikkoman teriyaki sauce
  • 1/2 to 3/4 c. packed dark brown sugar
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced and separated into rings
  • 2 to 3 cloves fresh garlic, thinly sliced
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • water

Method

  • In a large, shallow plastic or glass container, combine 1/2 bottle of sauce, brown sugar, salt and pepper.
  • Stir until sugar is dissolved.
  • Float onion and garlic in mixture; stir.
  • Add meat (steak, boneless chicken, chicken wings, pork and/or lamb); up to 3 pounds.
  • Add water until mixture covers meat.
  • Stir around meat well to blend in water.
  • Cover and refrigerate 2 hours or overnight, turning meat in marinade occasionally.
