Ingredients
- 1/2 c. butter (not margarine)
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp. corn syrup
- 3 Tbsp. water
- 1 c. chopped pecans
- 1 c. chocolate chips
Method
- Place piece of foil (approximately 10-inches long) on table before starting.
- Melt butter in 2-quart saucepan.
- Stir in sugars; add syrup and water.
- Cook until candy thermometer reads 290°.
- Add 3/4 cup pecans and cook three minutes more by the clock, stirring constantly.
- Pour onto foil and quickly spread as thinly as possible.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips on top; spread when they melt.
- Sprinkle finely chopped pecans on top.
- Cool and chill, then break into bite-sized pieces.
