Ingredients

  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. corn syrup
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 c. raw peanuts
  • 1 tsp. butter or oleo
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Method

  • Cook sugar, syrup and water to soft ball stage (234° to 245°). Add peanuts.
  • Continue
  • cooking
  • to
  • hard crack stage (300° to 310°).
  • Remove from heat.
  • Add vanilla and soda.
  • Mix well.
  • Pour onto greased
  • baking
  • sheet
  • spreading
  • as thin as possible. Using greased
  • rubber gloves to protect hands, pull and stretch until very thin.
  • Break into pieces.
