Ingredients

  • 1 1/4C white sugar
  • 1C heavy cream or evaporated milk
  • 5 squares Bakers Unsweetened Chocolate
  • 1/2C butter
  • 1t vanilla

Method

  • 1. Combine sugar and milk in heavy saucepan and bring to a boil while stirring constantly
  • 2. reduce heat, simmering for 6 minutes without stirring
  • 3. remove pan from heat
  • 4. add chocolate and stir to blend
  • 5. stir in butter and vanilla and stir to blend
  • 6. chill until mixture begins to thicken.
  • 7. use stand mixer to beat until thick and creamy
