Ingredients

  • 3 lb. frying chicken, cut up
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 1 small can mushrooms
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 c. dry red wine

Method

  • Combine flour, salt and pepper.
  • Use it to flour chicken. Melt butter in a large pan.
  • Brown the chicken well, then add the wine (enough to cover the chicken).
  • Cover and let simmer for about 50 minutes.
  • Drain mushrooms and add to chicken a few minutes before serving.
  • Serve with baked potatoes, tossed salad, hot French bread and wine.
