Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1 1/2 c. plain flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 or 3 Tbsp. water

Method

  • Cut shortening into flour and salt with pastry blender or fork until mixture is consistency of cornmeal.
  • Sprinkle water over mixture; blend lightly with fork.
  • Use as little water as possible.
  • Form into 2 balls.
  • Roll out between 2 layers of waxed paper, that have been sprinkled with flour.
  • Makes 2 (8-inch) shells or one double pie crust.
