Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. margarine
  • 2 c. granulated sugar
  • 1/8 tsp. salt (if desired)
  • 2 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 1/2 c. cold milk
  • 1/2 c. chunky or smooth peanut butter
  • 2 c. quick oats

Method

  • Melt margarine in heavy 1 1/2-quart saucepan.
  • Stir in sugar, salt, cocoa and milk.
  • Bring to a boil and boil exactly 2 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in peanut butter, then oats.
  • Mix thoroughly and drop onto wax paper.
  • Cool, then chill.
  • Store airtight.
  • If candy cookies stick to paper, peel them off gently. Yields about 56.
