Ingredients

  • 2 sticks butter softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar firmly packed
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • chocolate chips (to taste)
  • dried cranberries (to taste)
  • orange zest (to taste)
  • pecans (optional)

Method

  • Cream the butter.
  • Add the two sugars.
  • Separately combine eggs, vanilla, and milk, then add to butter/sugar mixture.
  • Separately mix and or sift flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and add to previous mixture in thirds.
  • Add two cups of rolled oats.
  • Then add chocolate chips, dried cranberries and orange zest, and pecans (if using).
  • Drop by rounded tablespoon on prepared cookie sheets and bake in a 350 degree oven for 12-14 minutes or until cookies turn golden brown.
