Ingredients

  • 2 c. Basic Batch Mix
  • 1/4 c. cocoa
  • 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. chopped maraschino cherries
  • 2 Tbsp. cherry juice

Method

  • Mix together Basic Batch, cocoa and flour.
  • Beat egg with vanilla, cherries and juice.
  • Add to dry mixture; blend well. Knead dough slightly with hands to fully mix.
  • Drop by tablespoons onto greased cookie sheet.
  • Bake at 325° for 10 to 12 minutes. Immediately remove from baking sheet.
  • Cool before frosting. Yields 2 dozen 2-inch cookies.
