Ingredients
- 8 pork chops
- Crisco shortening or similar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. sage
- 4 tart apples, cored, sliced and peeled
- 1/4 c. brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 1 c. hot water
- 1 Tbsp. vinegar
- 1/2 c. seedless raisins
Method
- Brown chops in hot fat. Sprinkle with salt and sage.
- Place in baking dish. Top with apples and sprinkle with brown sugar.
- Add flour to fat in skillet and blend. Add water and vinegar; cook until thickened.
- Add raisins and pour over chops.
- Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 1 hour or more.
- Serves 8.
