Ingredients
- 3 c. granulated sugar
- 1 c. Karo syrup (red label)
- 1/2 c. water
- 2 egg whites
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 c. chopped nuts
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Method
- Combine Karo syrup, water, salt and sugar; boil to 265° or hard ball stage.
- Beat egg whites until stiff and gradually beat in the boiling syrup mixture.
- Beat until it begins to stiffen, then add vanilla and nuts.
- Drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper to cool.
