- 1 pound grnd veal or possibly beef
- 1/4 c. chopped onion
- 1 tbsp. veg. oil
- 1 (8 ounce.) can tomato sauce
- 1 teaspoon basil
- 1 teaspoon parsley
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- Dash of pepper
- Dash of garlic salt
- 1 (4 ounce.) can mushrooms, liquid removed
- 1 (10 ounce.) pkg. frzn minced spinach, thawed
- 8 ounce. cottage cheese
- 4 ounce. Mozzarella cheese
Method
- Saute/fry onion and grnd meat in oil till onion is transparent.
- Add in tomato sauce, basil, parsley, oregano, garlic salt, pepper and mushrooms.
- Squeeze liquid from thawed spinach and combine with cottage cheese.
- Cut Mozzarella cheese in strips.
- In a 7x11-inch baking dish, arrange the following in layers: spinach mix, meat mix, then Mozzarella cheese.
- Repeat, ending with hard cheese.
- Bake at 375 degrees for 15-20 min or possibly till warm and bubbly.
- Serves 4.
